Yves Saint Laurent Kouros Eau de Toilette Tonique – Life of Leisure (2011)

A summer flanker of mighty Kouros... An incoming disaster. Fortunately, I was proven wrong. The unknown perfumer made, in my opinion, an interesting summer scent. Is it something groundbreaking? No, but it is easy to wear, relaxed, marine summer scent. Nothing more, and nothing less.
This summer Kouros opens with unidentified citric notes, immediately followed by strong marine, salty sea wind accord. At first sniff, it smells banal, and overly synthetic. It takes time to recognize hidden layers, consisted of cold incense note, musky freshness, pale fruitiness, and driftwood accord made of gentle Guaiac wood and some cedar. The usage of fresh and cold incense in summer scent is the interesting part of Kouros Tonique.
Kouros Eau de Toilette Tonique has normal projection, but longevity on my skin is great – up to 10 hours during hot or humid summer days. I did not expect this Kouros will be such a compliment getter. Apparently, the ladies really like its distinctive and fluffy freshness. The whole composition has some 80s cheap, but good vibe. Something Sonny Crockett from Miami Vice would wear.
This is a very nice casual summer scent, but I’m not sure is this 2011. version is still on the market.
