Canali Summer Night – Summer One-Trick Pony (Pierre Bourdon, 2005)

Canali Summer Night was a 2005. addition to the already discontinued Canali fragrance line. As the name correctly suggests, this fragrance is a typical summer flanker. Although, the name of the perfumer is not mentioned, I can sense the touch of the Master Pierre Bourdon. Summer Night is a Davidoff Cool Water subset with a pineapple fruity touch of Mont Blanc Individuel. It opens with fresh, airy accord, accompanied by the citrus notes, pineapple, spicy notes of nutmeg and cardamom, and transparent, but strong leather accord (as Canali company is known for their leather accessories). This leather accord is felt during the all stages of this fragrance. The heart is made of pale orange flower and jasmine with some traces of lily of the valley. The base is thin, consisted of cedar and gentle Tonka bean. Everything in Summer Night is extremely balanced, and notes are perfectly mashed together. Unfortunately, the composition is one-dimensional, flat and thin. The performances are subpar.
Although, I personally really like Summer Night and really reminds me of holidays on the sea, it is just a nice Cool Water variation. Not worthy of current inflated prices.
A relaxing summer scent, young gentleman in white shirt by the sea drinking his morning machiatto or a glass of brisk white wine in the evening. Not serious nor cheerful, just in the good mood.
