I’ll be frank with you. I really like Cuir Vetiver. Yves Rocher fragrances are not overly popular. Usually they are weak, based on one note and somehow flat. Their Ambre Noir was a nice try, but Sonia Constant’s Cuir Vetiver is something completely different.

Cuir Vetiver is composed with utter imagination,
very modern and substantial fragrance. It’s inoffensive, easy to wear, clean, sweet
but very cleverly avoids the banality of today’s mass products. Imagine the ISO
E Super cedar skeleton of Terre d’Hermes, broadened by the natural nutty aspect of Tonka bean and clean green vetiver. Like Ellena decided to make a more
natural version of Terre d’Hermes by a nutty element of Vetiver Tonka. The
vetiver is clearly present, but unfortunately I expected more leather (cuir). I
can only imagine a soft suede accord, made mostly of Tonka bean. Tonka is
really pronounced in Cuir Vetiver, thus lovers of Mugler’s Pure Tonka could
take this fragrance in consideration for Mugler’s summer version.
Cuir Vetiver is your perfect match for
spring and autumn or even cooler summer nights.
The only negative about Cuir Vetiver is
projection. Unfortunately, on my skin is spotty and below average. Luckily, the
price is very nice for my wallet. I really like design of the bottle and the box,
simple, appropriate and effective.
If you need clean, friendly, positive and
wearable fragrance I strongly recommend you to try Cuir Vetiver. I’m eager to
try an Yves Rocher’s next fragrance for men.
