Fragrances of Ireland Patrick – Irish Spring (1999)

 Scentrack: Suede - Positivity

The world we all know is collapsing. Today, more than ever, one often seeks shelter in the golden past. The Sunshine was brighter. The colors were more vivid. Everything made sense. Although many of us had less, the future was bright.

The relics of our better past are even more valuable than ever. And Patrick is one of them. A classic fougere of our past. Patrick is old-school, clean, and undeniably masculine. It opens in a very clean manner with plenty of citrus and green notes. It is also immediately soapy, like the Irish Spring soap. The heart is very floral with a very classic and old-school carnation note. What I like in Patrick the most is the still very fresh base. Patrick is fresh for the whole duration, but the base gives a darker earthy note of moss, vetiver, and patchouli. Like peat beneath the fern. Very nice and very Irish. Patrick is simply phenomenal as a wearable old-school fougere. Wearing Patrick I smell like my grandad, in a most positive way. The only downfall is a very poor customer service by Fragrances of Ireland. As a loyal customer, I tried to find out the name of the perfumer. They did not even care to give me an answer, even a negative one. Still, they produce Patrick, and that is the most important.
